Videos!

Finally figured out how to upload videos. I’m trying to get them to display in a little window on this page, like on YouTube. But when I preview it on this computer none of them will display. So I’m including the links to the videos, so you can download them if they won’t play in the window.
Please give me feedback as to which videos do play in the window – I’m trying a different format with each of them (Flash, QuickTime, Windows Media) and want to know if any of them work for you.

Here´s one from the market. Notice his leg sitting next to him.

One day last week during class, the sounds of a marching band wafted over to my cabaña. Wow, that was evocative. Thought I was in a small American college town during football season. Turns out it was coming from the school my sisters attend. They were practicing for an end of school year ceremony that afternoon. [The school year here runs from January to October, so this past week was finals. Very stressful for my sisters.]

Anyway, mom said the band would perform at the school at 4 pm. I waited in the rain expectantly. By 5 pm it still hadn’t begun, and I almost gave up and walked away. But then I thought, what else do I have to do? I need to get on the local time scale, and this is a good opportunity. So I kept waiting, and was rewarded with a wonderful display of their drum and bugle corps. They wouldn´t win any awards, but it was good fun nonetheless. [For those of you keeping score at home, there were about 30 snares, 3 bass drums, 10 horns, and 20 xylophones, or whatever you call the corps equivalent.] Clearly, this evangelical private school that my sisters attend has much more money/resources than the public schools. As you can see from the photos and video, they had nice uniforms and instruments. Notice the girls are all wearing heels. Interesting.
