Why not comment?

I’ve been feeling like I’ve been talking to a brick wall, what with the dearth of comments.

Of course, maybe it’s because you want to comment, but don’t see an obvious link to with the new theme. Until I figure out how to get a more obvious comment link on the main page, just click on the title of a given post. This will take you to a page specific to that post, where you can leave a comment on the bottom.
OR:
The numbers under the dates on the left indicate how many comments there are for a given post (most of them are ’0′). Click that number and you can read the comments, or leave one of your own.

Cheers.

OK Shers, there you are doing so well going with the flow and sharing said flow with us Silent Reading Folk. You deserve a sound back – maybe not in a howler monkey kinda way, but vocal all the same:).

I totally check in here every day waiting for you to check in there…I’m totally home-ridden now, for the past couple of months, and it is such a great light, your posts, shining on my rather gray existence.

LOVE the sound clip of the monkey talk! And the pics, of course, which are amazing.

It is an amazing thing, knowing you are out there in the world, traveling a path you saw from so far back. I’m glad for you.

    Always, All ways,
    much love,

    Josh,

I am fascinated by your tales and read them avidly. I will attempt to comment more so that you lose the feeling that you are posting to a void.

I always loved the feeling of departing a bus in a new town, being greeted by the chaos in the bus station and creating order from that chaos. It must be the control freak in my nature. Your tales give me great delight in remembering my adventures of 20 years ago.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for humouring me on this. It takes a lot of work to do the blog, and just a few lines of comment means the world to me.

Say, you know I love your way with words. And I´m touched that you check the blog so often! But why are you homeridden?! Not your health again, I hope..?

Clair, that’s an interesting viewpoint – I’ll have to try welcoming the feeling of stepping off the bus into chaos, rather than dreading it!

I am guilty of silent reading, too. I should know firsthand how elating/depressing it can be to receive/not receive communiques from the old world. Sowwy. I assume that your Spanish is progressing, as you seem to be getting around a lot and don’t mention it. Have you had any inklings to explore any theaters or performances yet, or are you on a moratorium with that? I thought of you the other day when I went to zoo and saw the taipan, one of Oz’s most deadly snakes. Its venom is 7 times more potent than the Egyptian Cobra! Um, what did you do with Jasmine? Happy Thanksgiving…

  • Yosh says:

Hey Jimmy, I thought you’d understand.
To answer your question, my Spanish has actually gone downhill since I left school. I’m getting by all right, but can’t actually have an intelligent conversation, which I would like to. I’ve been toting around language books, but am having a hard time pulling together the discipline to actually crack them!
I would LOVE to see some theatre/performance or any kind of art, but none of that exists out here in the boonies. Guatemala City is probably the only place that sort of thing lives, but that’s a dangerous place that one tries to leave as fast as possible. Seems like it will be quite some time before I’m in a place with Art..
Jasmine is alive and well as far as I know, living with a wonderfully crazy snake girl that Arnie found.

    JJ,
Love your blog and check every few days to see what new adventure awaits me. I am living vicariously through you! Don’t stop writing. I’ve been meaning to connect you with my sister in law Molly (Pad’s sister) and her partner Craig. They bought an apartment in Buenos Aires recently and travel there a lot to work on the remodel. They love BA. Pad, Katie, and I will be going down next TGiving for a visit. They live in Seattle most of the year but now live part of the year there. They are there right now, will be coming back to the states in December and back down there I don’t know when. There is lots of going back and forth and I can’t keep track of their travels anymore. I will find out how the three of you can communicate if you’d like to try to hook up with them in BA at some point. What is the best way to communicate with you? I will send them a link to your blog at the very least.
I’m very impressed with your great desire for adventure. You are a brave soul. But I always knew that. I look forward to your next post.
    Love
    Vik

Vik, I had no idea you were reading it! That makes me happy.
I keep hearing wonderful things about Buenos Aires, so yes, I expect I will be there awhile once I finally get that far, which won’t be for probably six months yet.
If anyone else reading this has any contacts in Latin America, send ‘em along! It makes such a difference to meet a friendly face in a foreign city.
To answer your question, the best way to communicate with me is via e-mail (or comments left on the blog, but those will be seen by a couple dozen people). My phone number keeps changing everytime I switch countries.
    xoxo
