Arthur, I'm thrilled that you're digging into the blog!
And I love your idea of cars increasing their resale value through restrained horn use. I don't know why it's not implemented.
Car alarms, don't get me started. Everyone agrees that they're completely useless now except in further spreading noise pollution. I don't know why people keep using them.

I had a similar idea to the horn regulator but I thought it should be permanent. Say 1000 honks is reasonable for the expected lifespan of the car--I think in my driving life I might have honked all of a dozen times. Then if you go sparingly with the noise pollution, you will have a car with higher resale value than the fellow who doesn't.
Also I don't understand why car alarms have to wake up the entire street. They should just automatically beep the owner or the police.

I love the phrase, 'One thing that really gets on my tits'
I've been meaning to catch up on your travels and am finally taking the time. Hope things are good, overall, and that you don't have too many more travel days like this one
