I had more trouble with vines on a hike last weekend whilst practicing my Tarzan routine. There was an enormous ceiba tree with really long vines hanging down, maybe 90′. I was testing one of them for weight, it gave way, I fell down, smacking my head against the trunk and my shins against the rocks. Ouch! I actually heard a crunch as my skull hit the tree. Fortunately I have a very hard head, I have learned from similar experiences.
It could have been a lot worse – I could have been knocked out, glasses smashed, what have you. My G.A. definitely had my back that day.
Note to self: place crash pad on ground before testing weight on vines.
